During summer season car ferries leave from Piombino to Portoferraio almost hourly. There are also daily ferries forward Cavo and Rio Marina. The shipping companies are Toremar, Blu Navy and Moby.
The crossing Piombino-Portoferraio takes one hour [ see ferry timetable ].
- By car:
From the North of Italy: from Milano take the A1 motorway, change to the A15 at Parma Ovest to join the A12 Genova-Livorno exit later at Rosignano. Continue on dual-carriageway as far as right-hand sign to " Venturina/Isola d'Elba". Continue on the main road until you reach Piombino Marittima/Portoferraio.
From the North-East: Take the A1 motorway Bologna-Firenze-Pisa-Livorno exit later at Rosignano and continue as above.
Alternatively: take the S.G.C. (not a motorway but a very good road) Firenze-Pisa-Livorno, exit at Firenze Scandicci and follow the main road as far as Collesalvetti. At Collesalvetti re-join the motorway and exit at Rosignano, then dual carriageway as above down to Piombino.
From the South: Take the A12 Roma-Grosseto, continue on the main road "the Aurelia": exit at Venturina-Isola d'Elba then follow as above for Piombino.
- By plane:
During the summer Elba is connected by many flights by italian and foreign companies from the following airports: Milano, Pisa, Zürich, Bern, Friedrichschafen, München, Hamburg. The airport is located in La Pila, approx. 22 km from our hotel. - By train:
The train station of Piombino Marittima is 50 meters far to the ferries departures (see www.ferroviedellostato.it)
How to reach us coming from Portoferraio or Cavo/Rio Marina
Once in Portoferraio you have to take the direction of Porto Azzurro - Capoliveri. After 10 km you arrive at a crossing with a red light, here you take right, direction Capoliveri. After 100 meters you will find the cross road for Naregno on the left side.
Just follow the coastal road for around 3 km until you find the indications for the Hotel. Arriving in Cavo or Rio Marina, follow the direction Porto Azzurro. After 2 km from Porto Azzurro you reach a red light, here you have to turn left, and after 100 meters left again, following the direction Naregno.
